Evaluation

The purpose of our voiceover was to recreate the voices of the characters of the short film and to convey their thoughts and feelings towards the other characters during the scene in our opinion the iMovie software was very useful as it allowed us to edit our scene. The scene we decided to use was a short scene from the film as we knew it would be very easy to create a voiceover using these characters. We did not use any type of sound effects throughout the whole voiceover which would make it very difficult to hear out voices also the use of background music was used to make the atmosphere more intense and more entertaining for the audience.

Our voiceover came out very successful as the audience was able to hear our voices with out any difficulty because we made sure that we recorded our voices very smoothly and did not make any mistakes when speaking into the microphone.

The workshop turned out to be very helpful for us as it showed us how to create a successful voiceover which we took from YouTube on the other hand it was not that easy for us to edit this voiceover as there was a lot of voices being heard also background music being played.

In conclusion to this we believe that our voiceover was produced at a high standard and we have highlighted different editing skills in order to make the voiceover become a successful one.

Assignment 31.2 research for a community project

knife crime over the years has become a bigger issues as the number of people getting stabbed has increased in England and wales from the year 2017-18. Knife crime offences has increased by 7% at the of June 2019. London has the largest  proportion of knife crime. In 2018, 35% of all knife offences recorded happened in the capital with 168 offences per 100,000 people in the latest year. I personally believe that this is a very big issue because many people across the country are fearing for there lives due to the violence which is happening on the streets. There are many different types of books which relate to knife such as gangs and knife crime which is a book which explains the key issues that affect children and young teenagers.  The purpose of my research to try and make young people aware of the dangers which they could face on the streets also for those who are involved in these incidents to try and find an exit to the life which they are living and turn over a new leaf which is to make the streets of England and wales a more safe place for everyone to live. I have added in  a video clip of young people who are involved in knife crime who explain on camera why they are involved in this type of crime

Secondary research

The British crime survey ...........................

The BCS is victimisation survey which began in 1982 which was then moved to an annual cycle from 2001/02 which measures the amount of knife crime which has been taken place in England and wales adults which are aged 16 and over have been questioned about crimes that they have experienced in the past year.

Defining knife crime ..................................

Knife can be described in many different types of offences such as carrying a knife for protection in a public environment to however producing a knife as weapon. An example could during an attempted robbery or even a sexual assault.

Police recorded crime ...............................

Police have recorded crime statics which can provide a good measure of trends in well reported crimes which can used to record crimes which will also provide the only measure for homicide and also the reliable measures for of crime such as robbery.

Primary research

Emmanuel: I am going to be asking you question based on what I have discovered on knife crime I am expecting a valid answer with your honest opinion which is due to how serious this problem has become over the years what is your view?

Tyler: Overall I believe that knife crime is becoming a very serious problem especially for young people who are still in school as they constantly have to worry about their safety when they are on the streets making their way to school or back home from school or wherever they may be so personally I believe that the government  should try and put in more effort to try put a stop to the rising violence on our streets. I also believe that there should be more police out on the streets and there should be more stopping and searching going on I lastly believe that young people are choosing to carrying knifes simply because they want to rob people and have access to items such as phones or chains or peoples money also most young people carry weapons due to protection from other young people who they feel are causing a threat to their lives

Emmanuel: Thank you very much for your contribution I really appreciate your opinion on the violence on the streets.

Tyler: No problem

My interview turned out to be very successful as I asked at least 30 different people on their thoughts on knife crime but they all came up with the same response saying how knife crime is scary for them and it is killing too many people on the streets but they did not go into any further detail on how knife crime can be stopped and why it is continuing to increase however Tyler's answer was the most useful compared to the answers as he explained why he thinks knife has increased over the years also what he thinks can be done to prevent the number from increasing over the coming years.

Gun crime book
Gun crime in England and Wales has become lower than 10 years ago. However the highest gun crime  rate for a decade was recorded in 2017-18 the most highest age of victims carrying guns is 20-29 the lowest was 5-9 the cites which have the highest gun crime rate in the UK is Southward and Lambeth. This can become a issues because people will begin to become afraid of gun crime it have a negative impact on peoples rights to education or health care when they are very scared to attend school or health facilities which is due to the violence in their community. At least 500 people every day lose their lives due to violence committed with firearms. There different types of books which can relate to knife crime and can also describe in detail what knife crime is and why it is has been a issue for a long period of time around different countries around the world an example of a book could be more guns less crime this book explains the key issues which effect all people across most places around the world. The Purpose of my research is to identify why gun crime has not decreased but rather beginning to increase and put many peoples lives at risk also to find out why young teenagers and young adults have chosen to live this lifestyle and how to try and make the streets a more safe place to live lastly to assure that innocent  people to be more alert when they are out on the road to prevent being attacked the video clip I have added shows people who are involved in gun crime and explain the reasons why they carry guns on the streets.

Gun Crime in the UK: 'My kids don't see this side of me' - BBC News ( accessed Nov 2 2017)

 Secondary research

Where do guns come from ...........

Guns are controlled in the UK that end up on the black market often start off as legal guns  but become illegal because they are modified or their licence status changes.

What type of guns are being used .......

Handguns were the most common type of firearm used to commit offences last year, according to police records.

How common are these crimes ...........

In England and Wales in 2016-17  there were 31 fatal shooting or one for every 1.9 million people.
And there were 9,578 weapons offences that resulted in injury Gun crime remains rare in England and wales.

Primary research

Emmanuel: I going to be asking a very serious question so I will need your very honest answer or your own personal opinion. The question is why do you think that gun crime has become a issues in England and wales and what do you think can be done to try and stop it from increasing?

Joel : I believe that knife crime has become a issues because many people are very nervous to leave their homes especially the younger generation who are expected to be attending school but unfortunately due to the violence on the streets most people are not willing to risk their lives. I  personally believe that their should be more armed police on the streets for protection of the public and if anyone is seen with a gun for a in valid reason they should be sentenced to jail for a life sentence which could make people carry guns want to carry guns less to prevent spending time behind bars.

Emmanuel : thank you very much for your answer I hope you have a wonderful day take care

Joel: thank you

Drink driving according to my research has become a huge problem over the years as young drivers are very less likely than adults to drive after drinking alcohol but the risk of crashing is also a lot more higher if they decide to drink. During my research i discovered over 600 people have lost their lives due to drink driving this took place in the years 1979-2014 most of these incidents were taken place all round great Britain each year I believe that the police around the UK should be stopping more older drivers on the road and remove anybody who continues to drive on the street drunk which will keep making the streets an even more dangerous place due to the amount of accidents which are happening at least 85000 people were convicted of drink driving offences in the year every in the great Britain the year 2019  which we are currently in the numbers have become even worse than it was in the previous years.

The chart i have posted below demonstrates the effects which drink driving has be causing how many people have died and how many people have been injured this chart does not show results all the way up to 2019 but however from looking at the results I can still get a very clear understanding of why the issue is a very big social issue in today society even as the numbers will slowly begin to decease it is still a very huge issue which need to be resolved I decided to use primary research to find out the opinions of other people and their views on drink driving. The way i did this was setting up a small group discussion in the park in the area i live i invited to close friends called Kelly and James as i believed that they would provide me with appropriate answers and explain their opinion  in detail instead of one word answers. I began the discussion by asking what are your views on drink driving? and if they believe that situation has gotten any better or worse over the years or has it gotten any worse as he provided me with the prefect answer.

Emmanuel : I will like to firstly start off by asking what are your personal views on drinking and driving starting with you Kelly.

Kelly : This issue has been gone on for a several number of years before I was even born to me this shows that the issue is not getting any better but it is rather getting worse because those who choose to drink and drive are not only putting themselves in danger but they are putting innocent peoples lives at risk due to their own silly mistakes rather than thinking twice about what they are doing.

Emmanuel: Okay  thank you very much for your personal opinion I really appreciate it but I would like to add in a comment based on what you said I absolutely agree with what you have just said but however I personal believe you should be allowed to drink and have fun and enjoy but you shroud only drink a certain amount which the law has required to prevent yourself from getting into trouble once again thanks for answer much appreciated.

I also asked James the same question i asked Kelly he also came up with a very similar answer to Kelly but in less detail but it was still a great opinion.

Emmanuel : Okay now James I will like to ask you the same question as i asked Kelly what are your personal views on drinking and driving ?

Jame: I am mostly likely going to give you the same answer as Kelly did but i believe that the issue is simply wiping out a ridiculous number of people around the whole of great Britain I also believe that any caught drunk over the limit which the law has stated while driving should be forbidden from driving for a number of years which could make the streets a little more safer.

Emmanuel : Okay I thank you both for your time have a good day.

The research method I used turned out to be very useful because I was to find out the negative effects of drinking driving from different websites also i was able to have a personal discussions with two good friends who gave me valid answers. I overall feel impressed with my research as all the methods i used has provided with me a lot of information on drink driving i also added in links to social companies which show different clips of drink driving issues which can be seen under the chart i have provided  could hopefully in the coming years bring down the number of people getting killed and injured to a much lower number
