foley sound affect

the term applied to manually producing sound effects in the studio is foley recording. Named for jack foley a sound editor with universal pictures for many years. the objective is recording to produce controlled sound effects in regulated studio environment.

Foley effects are produced in a specially designed sound studio known as a foley stage

It is acoustically dry on only because as with dialogue rerecording ambiences are usually added later but also because reflections from loud sounds must be kept to a minimum.

Foley effects are usually produced in sync with the visuals

The purpose foley is that difficult to record during production such as for action scene or large-scale movements of people.
